BlackRock iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB): What Pushes BlackRock ETHB Past $1.05 Billion While Ether Chops Lower

BlackRock’s iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF keeps attracting steady creations even as spot ether prices slip on the daily chart.

Steady Creations Lift ETHB Despite Softer Candles

What keeps money moving into a staked ether ETF when ether itself prints red candles day after day? BlackRock’s iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) reached roughly $1.05 billion in assets after pulling in about $307.72 million across twenty straight inflow days from July 28 through September 11, with no net outflow days recorded in that stretch.

The streak stands out because ether spot prices have not cooperated. Recent CoinGecko readings show ETH near $2,424 after a 4.33 percent daily drop, while BTC sits around $76,537 after its own 3.12 percent slide. Yet the ETF vehicle kept logging creations, including peaks near $42.64 million on August 28 and $52.91 million on September 2.

Yield Structure Separates ETHB From Spot Flow

Roughly 74.55 percent of the fund’s holdings, or about 313,789 ETH valued near $802.9 million, sit staked as of September 11. The thirty-day staking rewards rate hovers around 1.52 percent. That yield component turns the product into a distinct wrapper rather than a plain ether tracker, and the consistent creations show institutions treating it that way.

Cumulative net inflows for ETHB stand near $830.67 million since the March 12 Nasdaq launch. The fund launched about six months ago and crossed the billion-dollar mark without a single outflow day in the latest window. ETHA, the larger non-staked BlackRock ether vehicle, still holds far more assets at roughly $9.11 billion, so ETHB functions as a separate yield leg rather than a replacement.

Auction Model Versus Steady Institutional Creations

CryptoPunks built its early price path on auction mints that front-loaded scarcity and collector competition. Each sale cleared at escalating bids, and the collection’s chart moved in sharp bursts tied to those discrete events. ETHB follows the opposite pattern: daily creations arrive in measured amounts, zero redemptions interrupt the run, and the asset base grows through repeated small institutional decisions instead of headline single-day raises.

That difference shows up in delivery style. CryptoPunks relied on a one-time auction structure that set an immediate market price and left later holders to trade the secondary market. ETHB delivers through continuous fund creations that add ether, stake most of it, and generate yield without requiring buyers to time an auction. The result is a smoother AUM climb even while ether’s spot chart ranges and pulls back.

Chart Context and Current Levels

Majors have chopped lower across the board. SOL trades near $99.45 after a 3.61 percent decline, and DOGE sits around $0.0817 after a 3.72 percent drop. Against that backdrop, ETHB’s twenty-day inflow streak produced the cleanest institutional signal in the staked-ether category. The product’s structure keeps assets working on-chain while the ETF share price reflects both ether movement and the staking accrual.

The separation between ETHB and ETHA remains clear in size and purpose. ETHA continues to attract the bulk of plain spot demand, while ETHB captures the slice that wants yield attached. That split mirrors how different mint mechanics once divided collector attention between auction collections and later fixed-supply drops, yet the ETF version runs on daily fund accounting instead of one-off sales.

What the Numbers Show Next

The twenty-day window closed September 11 with zero net outflows and assets above $1.05 billion. Staking participation stayed high, and the rewards rate held near 1.52 percent. Those facts alone explain why the product crossed the billion-dollar line while ether prices eased on the broader chart. The contrast with auction-style launches like CryptoPunks rests on rhythm: repeated small inflows versus front-loaded bids. ETHB’s path stays tied to that daily cadence.
