Solana Network Operators Track Transaction V1 Rollout

The Solana network settled into a quiet rhythm in the first hour of epoch 1035 on September 15. Block production continued at its usual pace while operators watched the activation window for the new transaction format.

Developers had followed the proposal through testnet and devnet stages. On mainnet the change arrived at roughly 01:00 to 01:20 UTC with no reported disruption to ongoing activity.

What the upgrade delivers

Transaction V1 raises the maximum serialized size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. The larger limit allows zero-knowledge proofs, expanded multisignature sets, and additional signature schemes to fit inside one atomic transaction.

Legacy and version-zero transactions remain capped at the older size. Applications and wallets that do not require the extra capacity continue without modification. Protocols that want the new headroom must update their code to opt into the v1 format.
